Residents of apartment buildings located in rural settlements will be able to obtain land plots for the construction (installation) of temporary individual garages. This is provided for by the Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Land Code of the Republic of Belarus" of May 6, 2010, as reported today at a press conference by the Deputy Chairman of the State Property Committee of Belarus, Andrei Gaev, BELTA correspondent reports. Such land plots for residents of rural apartment buildings can be granted for temporary use by rural and settlement executive committees to citizens who are vehicle owners. As Andrei Gaev noted, previously, issues of obtaining plots for garage construction were periodically raised by rural residents of apartment buildings. They did not have the opportunity to obtain such a plot, unlike villagers living in single-family or semi-detached houses. The Law also resolves issues related to the possibility of formalizing documents for land plots exceeding the established sizes. According to Andrei Gaev, in cities, this is more than 15 ares, and in rural settlements - more than 25 ares. Previously, buyers of such land plots could not formalize them for use. Now, according to the law, if a citizen "has acquired residential buildings in the established manner on such plots that exceed the established sizes, they will be able to formalize these additional land plots for gardening." By decision of local executive committees, land plots can be granted to citizens of Belarus for temporary use for gardening in settlements where the land plots granted to them (or held by them) before January 1, 1999 (or after January 1, 1999, in smaller sizes than established by Article 36 of the Land Code of Belarus) for personal subsidiary farming, construction, etc., are located. In addition, the law clarifies the norms on the inheritance of land plots held in lifelong inherited possession. The Land Code is supplemented with a provision that a land plot held in lifelong inherited possession, on which a real estate object (e.g., a residential house) is located, is inherited exclusively by persons to whom this real estate object has passed by inheritance.
