3 August, Minsk /BELTA/. Belarusian cultural centres will be opened abroad. This is stipulated by the action plan for the implementation of initiatives proposed by the participants of the V Congress of Belarusians of the World, which was held in Minsk last year, the Ministry of Culture of Belarus informed BELTA correspondent. Such centres, including public libraries of Belarusian literature, can be established in different countries around the world. The immediate plans include exploring the possibility of establishing Belarusian cultural centres in Russia, Lithuania, and other states. During 2011, it is planned to prepare textual and photo materials, determine the print run by collecting applications, and publish a popular science book on the history and culture of Belarus. The recipients of this publication will be public associations of Belarusians abroad and libraries in areas of compact residence of ethnic Belarusians. The action plan provides for constant assistance to Belarusian associations established abroad in holding events related to the state holidays and memorable dates of the Republic of Belarus, and providing them with state symbols and informational materials. Creative groups, cultural figures, and representatives of state bodies will participate in such events. In addition, creative groups of Belarusians abroad will not be overlooked in terms of provision with national stage costumes, methodological guides, and audio and video materials about national holidays. They will also be welcome participants in festivals, celebrations, and exhibitions held in their homeland. At the invitation of Belarusian associations abroad, teachers from Belarus will conduct master classes on playing national musical instruments, and heads of artistic groups and performers – representatives of Belarusians abroad – will be able to undergo internships and participate in seminars in Belarus. The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts will serve as a permanent base for professional development for heads of artistic groups and folk masters. A grant policy to support programmes for the preservation and development of national culture by the Belarusian diaspora in other countries is planned to be implemented on a permanent basis. Competitions will be announced for the best programmes aimed at preserving and developing Belarusian culture abroad among scientists, artistic groups, masters of traditional culture, etc.
