The deadline for submitting lists of initiative group members for the nomination of candidates for deputies and applications for the registration of these groups to the district election commissions expires on July 19, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Lozovik told a BelTA correspondent.
Documents for the registration of an initiative group are submitted by a citizen who intends to nominate themselves as a candidate for deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the fifth convocation by collecting signatures.
District election commissions are obliged to make a decision on registration within five days. Members of a registered initiative group receive corresponding certificates and signature sheets.
Collectors need to collect at least one thousand signatures of voters residing in the territory of the constituency for which the prospective candidate for deputy is nominated.
The nomination of candidates for deputies of the House of Representatives will continue until August 13 inclusive. The registration of contenders for a seat in parliament will take place from August 14 to August 23 inclusive. Then, the campaign will start in Belarus. The main election day is September 23.
