2 June, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The registration of all information networks, systems and resources of the national segment of the Internet in Belarus will be carried out free of charge. This information appeared today on the official website of RUE "BelGIE", reports BELTA correspondent. Previously, it was assumed that the registration of Internet resources would be carried out on a paid basis. The registration fee for one Internet resource was set at Br16.8 thousand (including VAT). The state registration of Internet resources is provided for by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 644 of April 29, 2010 "On some issues of improving the use of the national segment of the global computer network Internet". It is carried out on an application basis upon submission of an application for registration by the Internet service provider. The procedure is planned to be completed by July 1 of this year. Subsequently, the registering organization will have to transfer information about the resources to the Operational-Analytical Centre under the President of Belarus. Resolution No. 644 was adopted in pursuance of Decree No. 60 "On measures to improve the use of the national segment of the Internet" of February 1, 2010, which provides for the obligation of state bodies and state organizations to post information about their activities on official websites, ensure their effective functioning and systematic updating. Internet users must freely and gratuitously receive information about the operating hours of a state body (other organization), its postal address, telephone numbers of its information services, the procedure for handling appeals from citizens and legal entities, administrative procedures carried out, etc. -0-
