This was announced today to journalists by the Head of the Main Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yuri Litvin, at the grand opening of the Republican Rally of Young Traffic Inspectors at the historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line", BELTA reports. Yuri Litvin noted that active work is currently underway in this direction. In addition, the traffic police still intend to introduce a new category "AM" for drivers of mopeds, scooters, and other similar vehicles. To obtain such a license, it is not mandatory to pass exams at the State Automobile Inspectorate. "We will do this on a voluntary basis," said the head of the traffic police. Moreover, if a person already has a category "A" or "B" license, they will be able to obtain "AM" on an application basis. At the same time, the traffic police do not yet intend to introduce a separate category for driving cars with an automatic transmission. -0-
