September 9, Minsk / Anna Kot - BELTA /. The Youth Innovation Forum will be held in Belarus for the first time in November 2010. This was announced today at the first meeting of the organising committee for the preparation and holding of the forum, according to a BELTA correspondent. The preliminary title of the forum is "Youth. Innovations. Future". The aim of the event is to stimulate youth participation in building Belarus's innovation economy, and to highlight the need to address specific state tasks of youth policy in the scientific, production, and social spheres. About 400 delegates will take part in the event. Innovative projects will be presented in the following areas: technological innovations and inventiveness; informatics and radio electronics; technology and materials of the future; innovative biotechnologies and nanotechnologies. The forum will last for two days and will include an exhibition of scientific achievements, work in sections, a school-seminar "Innovation Management", and an online conference with the regions. The event will be held at the National Library of Belarus. "Large scientific forums in various fields have been held on the premises of the institution more than once. The library is a place where ideas are stored, where else to discuss them but here," is confident the Director of the NBL, Roman Motulsky. According to him, "the main outlines of the event have already been determined, and now organisational issues need to be resolved." During the Youth Innovation Forum, the laureates of the republican competition of innovative projects in the nomination "Best Youth Innovation Project" will be awarded. Winners and prize-winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas and prizes - 50 base units for first place and 30 and 20 base units for second and third place respectively (the base unit is Br35 thousand). The main goal of the event is the search and subsequent implementation of promising innovative projects, as well as their commercialisation.
