The "Best Quality Manager" competition has been announced in Belarus for 2010, BELTA was informed by the press service of the State Committee for Standardization. This competition is being held for the fifth time and is organized within the framework of the state program "Quality" for 2007-2010. Its goal is to promote the increase of competitiveness of domestic products in domestic and foreign markets, enhance the authority of managers and specialists in the field of quality management (quality managers) and the image of the organization. Through this competition, advanced experience in the field of quality management and system management is promoted, which contributes to its implementation among organizations in Belarus. It is designed to involve a wide range of managers and specialists in the work on using modern forms and methods of quality management, attract their attention to personnel training in the field of quality management and system management, and enhance the image of the quality manager profession. Specialists or heads of quality management system services of organizations and enterprises of Belarus of all forms of ownership can participate in the competition. They must have significant results in the field of quality management at the enterprise and have been engaged in this work for at least three years. A mandatory condition is the presence of a certified quality management system at the organization represented by the participant. Re-participation in the competition is allowed no earlier than three years later. The competition is held in nominations depending on the organization's field of activity and the number of employees: manufacturing organizations with up to 500 people; up to 1 thousand people; up to 5 thousand; over 5 thousand. There are also nominations for service organizations with up to 100 people and over 100 people. An organization nominating its quality manager to participate in the competition must submit an application and a set of established documents to the secretariat of the competition commission by September 1, 2010.
